Cornwall has always been known for being home to some of the nation's best loved artists, many come to its picturesque fishing towns and world class beaches for inspiration. We’ve written a new blog and handpicked a few hot spots for art lovers to visit!
Newlyn Art Gallery
This fantastic contemporary art gallery in Newlyn opened in 1895, showcasing the best of national and international contemporary art, as well as some of the top artists in our region. Not only do you have the opportunity to buy paintings, prints and artworks at affordable price here, but the first-floor studio has stunning views that reach across mounts bay, and you can also enjoy a coffee stop at the café, which makes this gallery a superb visit!

The Tate St Ives
St Ives is well known for its connections to the art world, and this small Cornish seaside town first became home to this major art gallery in 1988. Since then, a growing number of visitors each year led the Tate to expand in 2017 and double its exhibition space. Showcasing some of the best British artworks of the twentieth century, alongside stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean from its location on Porthmeor beach - The Tate St Ives is a must visit for any art lover.

Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden
Barbara Hepworth was a British sculptor and a leading figure in the international art scene during a career that spans five decades. This is the largest collection of her works, permanently on display where she lived and worked from 1949 until 1975. You'll find amazing sculptures set among flowers and beautiful landscaping, plus a chance to take a look in her original workshop. A must visit when in St Ives.

The Penwith Gallery
Formerly a pilchard packing factory and set among a complex of buildings including three public galleries, printmakers workshop and ten artists' studios - The Penwith Society was founded in 1949 by Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson, Peter Lanyon along with other well-known artists. The gallery also has many associations with progressive and influential figures in the art world like Terry Frost and Henry Moore. It still plays a huge role in the exciting St Ives art community, and some argue the Penwith Gallery is the best in St Ives!

Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens
These stunning historic gardens can be found in a beautiful, sheltered valley near Penzance, West Cornwall. Interwoven within the sub-tropical planting lies an array of inspirational artworks and sculptures to browse. There is quite a climb to reach the top of the woodland, but once there you will be rewarded with stunning views over St Michael's Mount.
