The Lizard
Located at the most South-Westerly point on mainland Britain and following the South West Coastal Path, the Lizard is hugely popular with walkers and adventure seekers. A beautiful stretch of rugged coastline and rocky headland make up the Lizard peninsula, the roots of the name 'Lizard' come from the Cornish term 'Lys Ardh' which translates as 'high court'. This area is well protected and has won many awards for its stunning landscape, it is easy to see why it has been recognised as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Feed the animals
Roskillys Farm is a real working, organic Cornish dairy farm with its own well-known brand of ice cream. Hand feed all the animals including calves, goats, pigs, chickens and many more. Let the kids run wild along the mile long pathways through the old withy woods and farm land. Explore the most photographed cove in Cornwall A short 2.5 mile walk will lead you to Kynance cove, which is one of the most popular destinations to visit in Cornwall and it's easy to see why, its turquoise waters, white sandy beaches and wild rock formations make kynance a very unique cove. On a hot summers day it's hard to believe you are still in the UK. Walk the costal path The lizard point is a rugged trail with stunning coastal views, there is a 4-mile circular route starting and ending from the village green, look out for the seals below the cliff edges. |
Go scuba diving
‘Kennack diving’ is the most southerly dive centre in mainland Britain offering a range of courses. Learn the ropes in the beginner's pool, become an assistant instructor as well as guided dives full of friendly local advice. Climb the Lizard Lighthouse The flagship visitor centre is full of historical artefacts, gift shop and bright displays for all ages. You can book your tour of the lighthouse and heritage centre on the day ,climb the lighthouse and take in the amazing coastal views whilst learning about its history. |

There's really only one place that incapsulates this area and its beautiful landscape, which is the lizard lighthouse and heritage centre, officially opened in 2009 with the lighthouse providing a welcoming light for vessels and ships crossing the Atlantic Ocean for over 250years. |
