One of the best beaches in Cornwall is located here in Perranporth, at low tide Perranporth Beach connects to the neighbouring beach of Penhale Sands creating one of the largest stretches of sand in North Cornwall, it is great for family walks, letting the dog loose, beach days or even horse riding! There is plenty of parking right by the beach side and Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round, but please note during July and August they should be kept on leads between 10 am - 5 pm on the main beach area. Chapel Rock, a unique landmark of Perranporth Beach on Cornwall's North Coast, presents a blend of nature and historical significance. This open-air swimming pool, brimming with seawater during high tide and naturally warmed by the sun, is situated at the centre of a three-mile stretch of sandy beach. Beyond its appeal as a wild swimming destination, Chapel Rock is rich in local folklore. It is rumoured that a chapel once stood on its summit, (hence the name!) with remnants of steps and a building still discernible in old photographs.
