What is Praa Sands famous for...Smuggling!
Praa sands and Prussia cove played a huge part in Cornish smuggling history in the 18th century, John Carter the self- proclaimed ‘king of Prussia’ and his brothers used these coves as they are sheltered by the cliffs which helped them avoid being caught with contraband they had smuggled in.
