During 2021 we visited many amazing locations around all around Cornwall, places that are rich in Cornish history. Whilst exploring we have captured some images that have a story to tell...
Old quay
Built in 1435 the old quay in Newlyn is a medieval quay and was the final port of the famous mayflower on its voyage to America, stopping of to pick up fresh water. Built to protect the harbour from wild sees and even wilder pirates, over the centuries Newlyn and neighbouring Penzance were victims of countless pirate raids, continuing until the late 1800’s. The old quay is no longer in use for commercial fishing as Newlyn has expanded its harbour and become one of the largest working harbours in the UK.

Pup proofing tips!

12/13/2021

Owners tend to be apprehensive about allowing pets into their home. However, they rarely cause any issue at all, as long as you’ve made an effort to do a little pup proofing around the house you will be able to offer a holiday for the whole family, increasing your bookings and income!
Starting from the bottom
Carpets! Let's be honest its inevitable there will be an accident at some point, so it may pay to get rid of the carpets at least on the ground floor perhaps. A lot of holiday
let owners ask to keep the pups downstairs allowing them to have nice cosy carpets in the bedrooms upstairs. Keeping carpets is risky as they will hold odours and fur causing extra cleaning time, and time is money so it may pay to look for alternative floor coverings. High quality laminate with good scratch resistance is a great cost-effective option.
